The global COVID-19 landscape is changing. This is a good year to think outside the box and take advantage of opportunities to train and, where safe, compete locally.
To make it easier for you to stay home, Nordiq Canada has extended the Canada Points List calculation period back to May 13, 2019. This means any CPL points earned from May 13, 2019 until the end of the 2021 winter season will count toward an athlete’s CPL ranking. An athlete entering the 2020-2021 season with CPL points will not lose their points if they are unable to participate in any Nordiq Canada sanctioned competitions.
To keep your points, you must have an active Nordiq Canada race license. Don’t delay in renewing – only current race license holders will be included in points list calculations. This matches the extension of the FIS point calculation period. Similarly, you must have an active FIS license to keep your points.
At this time, WJR/U23 and Senior Trials remains on the calendar. We continue to review whether that event can and should proceed. Our next decision will be on or before November 26. You can follow Nordiq Canada’s decision-making process and timelines right here.
Stay home, stay safe and stay healthy.
